It will cover much of the X79-based platform, CPU included

Normally, motherboard water blocks are just that: water blocks that keep heat in check for the troublesome chips of a mainboard. The CPU often isn't figured into the calculations, so to speak, since coolers/ water blocks are made especially for them, separately.

EK Water Blocks chose to totally disregard this when it created the EK-FB ASUS R4BE Monoblock, and even called it an all-on-one cooling module.

Because yes, the new water block chills both the mainboard and the CPU socket. You'll just have to hook the water hoses and voila! All set for the future.

This is the second all-in-one motherboard cooler from EK. The first was the EK-FB ASUS M6I, which was made for ASUS's eponymous mini-ITX platform.

The principle is like this: the EK-Supremacy cooling engine guides water to all relevant parts of the mainboard, like the CPU itself, VRM chips, southbridge, etc.

And since we're looking at the platform based on the X79 chipset, we're talking really demanding LGA 2011 Xeon processors here.

The EK-FB ASUS R4BE Monoblock for ASUS' Rampage VI Black Edition motherboard ships with the mounting mechanism, thermal pads and the Gelid GC-Extreme thermal grease. Depending on the material (Acetal, Nickel, Acetal+Nickel), the price goes from €162 / $162 to €167 / $167.
