The ASUS Maximus VII Gene, VII Ranger, and VII Hero platforms get the water cooling treatment this time

With both new CPUs/chipsets and graphics cards coming out, September is a ripe month for EK to release new water blocks. The ones I'm about to show you are the sort you install on motherboards.

And not just any motherboards, but the high-end ones from ASUS, the Maximus VII Gene, VII Ranger, and VII Hero.

Indeed, the Ljubljana-based water cooling gear manufacturer has managed to launch a water block that works on three different platforms.

Called EK-MOSFET ASUS M7G, the cooling module has pre-installed nickel-plated brass standoffs and a base made of nickel plated electrolytic copper, plus an acrylic glass material or POM Acetal top.

In all cases, the price is of €44.95, which can mean anything from $44.95 to $58. Refresh rates don't matter often, but they may have some bearing here.

Either way, the cooler ships with a backplate and has a high flow design that lets it work at full efficiency even in water cooling systems with weak pumps.

Sales of the EK-MOSFET ASUS M7G will begin on September 19, 2014, which is just one week away. Pre-orders can already be placed though. Obviously, you'll need to buy the rest of the water cooling system yourself, if you don't already own the main parts.
