The board will work only with that particular ASUS Radeon R9 280X GPU

ASUS is one of the companies with the most new Radeon R9 and R7 graphics cards, and EK has taken note of this, having prepared a water block just for one of its boards.

The card that is getting served by the Ljubljana-based premium water cooling gear manufacturer is the ASUS R9280X-DC2, along with the R9280X-DC2T.

The water block is called EK-FC R9-280X DCII and will provide the Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II series with direct cooling to the GPU, RAM and VRM.

And since the cooler is a single-slot contraption, that means that normal, ATX motherboards will be able to fit up to four video cards, if enough PCIe slots are available. CrossFireX configurations will suffer no impediments that way.

Sales will start in mid-November 2013 though, hence why there isn't a photo of the item yet.
