It is narrower than the 5:3 aspect ratio that used to be common

A new 21.3-inch monitor has been launched, and those who think that's an odd diagonal length have a point.

EIZO went outside the normal mold and chose to design a screen with an aspect ratio of 4:3 (the once normal TV/monitor AR).

That's narrower than even 5:3, and makes the display look almost square.

It will definitely look odd to anyone that is used to seeing Full HD panels (16:9), albeit not.

Anyway, the 21.3-inch FlexScan S2133 has a native resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels and a brightness of 420 cd/m2.

It also has 6 ms gray-to-gray response time and 178° viewing angles, courtesy of the IPS LCD.

Other specs include a DisplayPort output, DVI-D, a D-Sub port, a USB hub (one upstream, two downstream USB ports), and a stand with 40° tilt, 70° swivel, and portrait mode. The price is unknown, but shipments should start soon.
