Mobile phone carrier US Cellular has just made available for download a new software update for the Samsung Mesmerize, the Galaxy S model that landed on the carrier's airwaves last year. Mesmerize is one of the various Galaxy S variants that Samsung brought to shelves in the United Sates via wireless carriers in the country, specifically crafted for US Cellular's network.

The EE19 software update brings a wide range of enhancements into the mix, along with various fixes for some of the issues that the mobile phone previously included.

As soon as the new update was installed, users should not experience any more problems with missed calls while playing videos on YouTube, nor should they be plagued with a series of issues associated with ringtones, one of which resulted in a force-close.

The release notes for the new EE19 update include:

- Fixed, Missed voice call while playing YouTube content - Fixed, Restore Buddies now contact list after upgrade - Fixed, Force-close issue when Voice call ringtone menu selected after setting Default ringtone - Fixed, Restore default ringtone if Speak Caller ID selected prior to upgrade EC10 - Fixed, Google Client Id change - Google Rooting Security Patch - Google Market security patch - Google Security Patch CVE-2010-4804.

As can be seen from the changelog above, this is only a minor software update for the handset, but it still brings welcome improvements.

In order to download and install the new software, users will have to have the Kies Mini application installed on their desktop PCs.

The update process can be easily performed via any computer that runs under Windows 7, Vista, or XP, with the handset connected to the PC, and the Kies Mini software up and running on it.
