Coming to actually offer a palpable embodiment of a certain Intel project, the new all-in-one PC from Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) has been formally launched.

One of the big issues that all-in-one systems are usually faced with is the fact that their prices are considerable, especially compared to regular desktops of similar prowess.

Intel is one of the companies that wants to see things change in this regard, so it started developing and promoting an all-in-one PC standard.

It is that same standard that ECS did its best to follow when it put together the G11, “an ideal platform for a home entertainment system,” as the press release calls it.

One thing about it is that it uses the mini-ITX form factor, along with an Intel Core i3 o Core i5 central processing unit from the second (and current) generation. This also means that video tasks are handled by the Intel integrated graphics.

Speaking of video, the screen of the AiO measures 21.5 inches (a 24-inch AiO will follow soon) in diagonal and boasts a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, plus multi-touch input support, though this last feature is an optional one.

Needless to say, the above mentioned CPU and video components need matching memory and storage space.

A 3.5-inch bay makes sure a capacious hard disk drive can be included in the configuration, while 8 GB of RAM (random access memory) back whichever chip is chosen as the heart of the machine.

Other specifications include a pair of 5W speakers, Gigabit Ethernet, a 6-in-1 card reader, room for a slim ODD (optical disk drive), an HDMI output and 7.1 channel audio.

All in all, the ECS G11 AiO measures 565 (H) x 440 (D) x 60 (W) mm and will be sold in three color options (silver, black and pink). The price, unfortunately, has not been disclosed.
