Since package deals often increase the number of people willing to buy a certain products, ECS figured it wouldn't hurt for its motherboards to bring along some security software, so it entered a deal with Symantec.

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) is a company known worldwide for its various hardware products, like video cards and motherboards.

Still, like all hardware makers, the outfit needs to always find new and good ways to promote its product portfolio.

The latest move on the company's part involved the signing of a deal with the company known as Symantec.

Under the terms of the agreement, ECS will be allowed to bundle the motherboards of its choosing with a trial version of a certain security software suite.

To be more specific, whatever mainboards ECS chooses will be bundled with a 60-day trial of Symantec's Norton Internet Security 2011.

For now, only consumers on the Indian market will have access to this type of product offers, though ECS might eventually start to do similar things in other regions.

"We are positive about the bundling offer as Norton is a very well accepted name in the anti virus segment," said Mr. Rajesh Goenka, VP (Sales & Marketing) Rashi.

"We are sure it will help to create a pull factor for ECS amongst the channel partners."

“Our goal is to fulfill customers’ needs in every possible way,” said Ken Cheng, Sales Manager in Pan India Sales Dept.

“Therefore, ECS is always trying hard to enhance our product quality, performance and create addition values; and bundling Norton Internet Security Software of 100% Virus Detection Rate with motherboards is obvious a smart choice.”

For those in need of a reminder, the Norton Internet Security 2011 suite includes software capable of dealing with such things as viruses, spam, spyware and phishing.
