EA Sports UFC has just gotten an update, fixing a lot of the things that the community complained about after playing the mixed martial arts simulation game.

While EA Sports UFC may not have been in the best shape possible at launch, EA is at least making good on its promise to support it post-launch, trying to get it as close to the experience that fans want as possible.

The brand-new update is not restricted to gameplay tweaks and bug fixes though, as the patch also adds three completely new fighters to the already sizable roster, in the form of T. J. Dillashaw and Takeya Mizugaki in the bantamweight class, and Tyron Woodley in the welterweight weight class.

The list of changes is pretty extensive, starting with new and updated content, updates to fighter records, an update to Alexander Gustafsson's tattoo, and an added Finish the Fight feature, where users can land extra shots after a fighter gets knocked out. Additionally, the ability to touch gloves at the beginning of every round has been added, as well as sprawls when defending power takedowns.

Fans of online play will notice the Grand Prix Invitational tournament in Championships, the Red Belt division, as well as fixes to online leader board stats displaying incorrectly in comparison to FighterNet profile. Some issues with uploading highlight reels and online disconnects resetting the user's fighter and not reporting the game were also fixed.

Most of the tweaks were made in order to improve the general quality of gameplay, including adding an animation to the submissive fighter when attempting a full guard sweep to a postured opponent in full guard, the ability to break out of cage clinch by pressing the L3 button, and the removal of some power takedowns, and side control sweeps from fighters that should not have them.

Furthermore, stamina and damage changes are now relative to accelerated clock, and users take a larger stamina penalty when hit while weak blocking, and no longer regenerate the resource when blocking.

EA Sports UFC came out on June 17, 2014, for the Xbox One console from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system from Sony. Publisher EA Sports has revealed that, since then, gamers have participated in over 65 million matches, with Bruce Lee being the most popular fighter in the game.

The game offers a much more realistic experience than previous installments in the series, in part due to the fact that it runs on EA's powerful Ignite engine.
