The improvements linked in FIFA 13 do not stop at the gameplay level and one leading executive working on the franchise believes that gamers will be impressed by the way the User Interface has been streamlined for the new release.

David Rutter, who is the leader of FIFA development at EA Sports, has told the Official PlayStation Magazine that, “Our user interface’s usability is something that in the future we need to look at quite hard. I can’t tell you the exact number of button presses that you’ll need, but… there are a lot of things going on in the game that, particularly for online, have been there to try to eradicate as much cheating as possible.”

The developer also talked about how cheating has impacted the game, adding, “So some of the issues that probably feel around ‘why do I always have to download squad updates? Why’s it always checking my squad? Why why why… is because a lot of people were hacking the squad files and putting out amazing squads.”

FIFA 13 needs to improve on the already excellent mechanics of the previous titles in the series and it will try and do that by improving both on the simulation front and by making changes to the core game modes.

The game will deliver a better Player Impact Engine, more unpredictable moves and new options for set-pieces, while in the Career gamers will have a chance to take on the role of manager for national teams.

The Ultimate Team game mode, which was a hit in 2011, is returning with more options and players will also be able to import their old teams and then improve on them rather than start from scratch.

FIFA 13 will be out on September 28 in Europe and three days earlier in North America on all possible gaming devices.
