EA Sports, the simulation oriented division of publisher Electronic Arts, has confirmed that it will launch the new FIFA Street video game during March 2012.

The title was announced at the Gamescom trade event and will allow players to take their football skills to street locations all over the world, playing with street rules and locations that go from Europe to Brazil.

The FIFA Street series has had three previous installments but the franchise failed to achieve the level of success of the main installments in the FIFA juggernaut.

I got to play the new game on the Nintendo 3DS handheld and, after turning the three dimensional effects off, I was left with a pretty interesting football experience which focuses on dribbling and tacking in tight space.

The game uses the FIFA 12 engine, including Player Impact, and will have more than 120 real world footballers and more than 30 locations.
