Electronic Arts has made several statements concerning the recent release of SimCity on the PC via its Origin service, saying that it's sorry about the errors caused by its servers and promising that it will handle things better when the game is launched in Europe later this week.

The new SimCity game was eagerly awaited by millions of fans from all over the world and yesterday those in North America were finally able to play it.

Sadly, due to ongoing server errors caused by EA's Origin digital distribution service, players weren't able to activate, download, or play the game.

EA has apologized on Twitter for its poor handling of the issue but emphasized that only a small percentage of gamers were affected.

The company says changes have been made to Origin servers and it's confident that "Origin will be stable for international launches later this week."
