Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 now sells for a single dollar (€0.89) on iPads, Electronic Arts has announced. The popular fighting game has updated graphics and controls for an immersive multi-touch fighting experience.

As far as true MK fans are concerned, the best games in Midway’s fighting series remain the 2D one-on-one installments.

There have been various spinoffs like Mortal Kombat Mythologies (featuring Sub-Zero in a quest for… something), or Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks (featuring Liu Kang and Kung Lao in a 3D co-op adventure).

But none can rival the classic player-versus-player Mortal Kombat fighters which culminated with the release of MK3 Ultimate and MK3 Trilogy on PC and consoles almost two decades ago. So if you’re a fan, you’ll know that Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for a buck is quite a bargain.

The game only requires iOS 3.2, says EA.
