The team at publisher Electronic Arts working on the Origin digital distribution service announces that its core servers have not entered a maintenance period and that online play will be unavailable for a number of video games.

The announcement does not offer a list of the video games that are affected by the maintenance and does not say for how long multiplayer will not be available.

The message from the official Twitter account reads, “EA servers are undergoing maintenance. During this maint., online play will not be available for several titles. Thanks for your patience.”

Electronic Arts has tried to shape Origin as an alternative for the Steam service from Valve, which currently dominates digital distribution on the PC.

The company obviously has more work to do when it comes to offering clear and quick information to its users.
