The team at Electronic Arts in charge of the EA Sports Season Ticket initiative announces that this is the last year that the special program for sports fans will be available and that it will be restricted to the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony.

All those who pick up the package for the price of 19.99 dollars or Euro will be able to get three days early access to Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, and NHL 15, a discount of 20 percent for all the downloadable content they pick up for the titles, and 24 weeks of Ultimate Team packs for all the three games mentioned above.

EA Sports says in the official announcement that, on the Xbox 360, the EA Season Ticket can be purchased starting today, while those who are playing on the PlayStation 3 will need to wait until August 26.

The studio explains that, in order to get early access to Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, and FIFA 15, gamers will need to: “If you have an Xbox 360, you must manually trigger the Early Access download from within EA SPORTS Central. If you have a PS3, you must manually trigger the Early Access download from:PlayStation Store » View All By Title » ‘letter of the game title’.”

The company adds, “The early release of each game will offer full functionality – including online play – with the exception of purchasing additional downloadable content. FIFA 15 includes access to Ultimate Team modes in the Early Release, but Ultimate Team is not available in NHL 15 and Madden NFL 15 Early Release.”

The demise of the EA Season Ticket is linked to the launch of the new EA Access program, which is at the moment offered on the Xbox One home console.

The service allows players to pay a monthly or annual subscription in order to get access to a range of games, including older versions of FIFA, Madden NFL, and NHL.

The company also allows for a limited time trial for all the titles it is planning to release this year and offers a price cut for subscribers on both full titles and DLC.

EA Access will not be launched on the PlayStation 4 because Sony does not believe that it can bring enough value for its price and Electronic Arts has not announced whether it will launch something similar for the PC, alongside the Origin digital distribution system.
