It seems that quite a few users of Electronic Arts’ Origin service have seen their accounts hijacked in recent weeks and EA itself has now released a statement denying that there’s been any intrusion in its database by hackers.
EA’s Origin service has been around for over a year and it’s already attracted tens of millions of users from all over the world.
Sadly, as we learned yesterday, it seems that quite a few people have seen their accounts hijacked by nefarious individuals, who quickly changed their passwords and effectively locked them out of the service.
EA has now posted a statement concerning the issue and revealed that it has not detected any intrusion into its database.
“At this point, we have no reason to believe there has been any intrusion into our Origin database,” a company’s representative told
Eurogamer.
Even so, it’s probably better to change your EA account master password just to be on the safe side and always keep an eye out on your email inbox, as the service sends a special email every time you change your password.
