Electronic Arts has released some impressive figures about two of its most successful games, Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12, while hyping up the popularity of its Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO and the Origin digital distribution service on the PC.

EA posted its financial earnings yesterday and, amongst the variety of sales and revenue figures, the company also mentioned the performance of its games and its digital distribution efforts.

First up, EA talked about its most successful titles, Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12, which both sold over 10 million units since their release last year.

This is quite impressive, seeing as how FIFA 12 arrived at the end of September, while Battlefield 3 appeared in the last week of October. It’s not that surprising, however, as both titles were released on a variety of platforms, from the PC to the PS3, Xbox 360, and much more, at least in the case of FIFA.

Another big seller for EA was Madden NFL 12, which managed to sell over 5 million copies since its arrival in August, last year.

EA was also pleased with the Origin digital distribution service, as over 9.3 million users are now using it to access the variety of EA titles available for purchase, not to mention the third-party games from companies like Warner Bros., THQ, Capcom and more.

Last but not least, the company didn’t miss a chance to highlight the popularity of its Star Wars: The Old Republic online game, which sold over 2 million copies and now has more than 1.7 million paying subscribers, who play around four hours a day.

The missing 300,000 users, according to EA, are either not active or have opted out once their 1-month subscription, bundled with every new game, expired.

Either way, the company was quick to point out that these official figures now make Star Wars: The Old Republic the fastest growing subscription MMO in history.
