EA, one of the largest video game publishers in the industry, believes the new PlayStation Move and Xbox Kinect will successfully capture the Nintendo Wii audience, and introduce them to more complicated games.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 have and will, respectively, get new technologies, in the form of the PlayStation Move and Kinect, so that they can further battle the current best selling console, the Nintendo Wii.

According to EA's European senior vice president, Jens Use Intat, the two systems will work wonders with the current Wii audience.

When asked if the Move can convert the Wii audience, Intat said that "I can certainly imagine that."

He praised the Wii for the things it achieved up until now, especially bringing gaming to a new audience.

“We’ve always hoped Nintendo would get new audiences into gaming with the Wii, and they’ve successfully done that."

Those people will now be further drawn into the gaming business through the PlayStation Move and Kinect, at least according to the EA executive.

“We also always hoped those people would later buy a next gen gaming machine that does stuff the Wii doesn’t do as well as the others and we can certainly expect that the combination of reducing the entry barrier of the price and making the PS3 and 360 more accessible via Move or Kinect, we will certainly get people who now enjoy playing video games and want to play online or enjoy games in a much high resolution. We do expect quite a few people to do this.”

Do you think the new technologies will be able to draw in those who already have a Wii or will they keep on gaming on the Nintendo console for quite some time in the future?
