EA Mobile recently announced that it would bring Hollywood to mobile phones in 2009 with the release of four new games based on this year's movies: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra, Star Trek, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Mobile phone users will be able to extend their movie experience by playing the game on their handsets.

According to the company, users will be enabled to choose the character they would like to play as in the games, and to plunge in the action and adventures brought on their handhelds. With Harry Potter, they will battle against Death Eaters, while a G.I. JOE operative will have to face off against Cobra Commander. Moreover, Wolverine’s adamantium claws will offer them the chance to slash through enemies, and they will also be able to come aboard of the USS Enterprise starship to fight hordes of Klingons.

“There are a lot of great movies this summer that translate into exciting mobile entertainment experiences, including these phenomenally popular franchises,” said Adam Sussman, VP Worldwide Publishing, EA Mobile. “These are four of the hottest films this year, and EA Mobile is proud to bring fantastic game companions of each title to mobile phones.”

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will bring on the mobile phones an action-packed gameplay at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry, Ron and Hermione will explore the school grounds, while interacting with different characters and fighting Dark Forces. G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra gives players the chance to join Conrad R. “Duke” Hauser, Shana “Scarlett” O’Hare, and Wallace “Rip Cord” Weems in a battle against Cobra Commander’s toughest villains.

Star Trek offers users the possibility to become the captain of USS Enterprise while fighting against the Klingons, Cardassions and Vulcans. The game can already be played on feature phones and the iPhone, and offers a wide range of exciting gameplay scenarios. X-Men Origins: Wolverine puts the players in the shoes of Wolverine in his attempt to discover the secrets of his past.

According to the company, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is available for feature phones. At the same time, EA Mobile says that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra will come to the market in July.
