EA Mobile's Tetris POP Comes to Reinvent Tetris

EA Mobile, subsidiary of Electronic Arts, has just released a new game said to represent a new twist on the old and beloved tetris. Called Tetris POP, the new product that the EA labs have developed is presented as an "exciting" addition to the company's line-up of tetris-related games. 

Tetris POP features no less that 17 new and cool variations of the "Tetris gameplay formula." The novelties that the game brings include "frantic challenges" that must be solved in a given time, animated backgrounds, brilliant colors and a soundtrack said to be full of energy.

All of the 17 gameplay variations included in Tetris POP are packed with specific challenges. For example, in Detonator you will have to trigger bombs, in Circuit – manage electrical connections, while in Vanilla mode you simply have to give all you've got in terms of tetris skills. Moreover, there are three POP modes, featuring unique worlds and against the clock adventures.

Adam Sussman, vice president of publishing for EA Mobile, said about the new game, "Tetris POP is the perfect companion to our other Tetris products. We've created a unique spin on the classic game that provides fans with a variety of short, challenging bursts of great Tetris gameplay."

For the moment, EA Mobile is distributing Tetris POP only across North America, Asia and Europe. Users who want to buy it should visit EA's official website, accessible at this address. The game can be yours for as little as 3.99 USD, but the price is carrier-dependent, hence it might be a bit higher in some countries.

Originally designed more than 20 years ago (1985) by the Russian developer Alexey Pajitnov, Tetris is one of the most famous and played video games, reaching most of  the gaming platforms available. According to EA, Tetris is also the world's best-selling mobile game franchise, with about 55 million downloads so far.
