EA Launches Origin Gaming Platform for OS X

Electronic Arts has released Origin for Mac, a client for the Origin platform for game discovery, social interaction, game saves, and all sorts of activities surrounding gaming.

Origin for Mac lets you challenge friends, explore new games, and stay connected with the community with chat features. You get cloud saves to conveniently store your game progress across multiple systems, as well as exclusive deals, demos, and free games.

Gamers can create a profile right within Origin, and then instantly connect and chat with their friends, share their game libraries and even join their friends’ games.

Origin lets you connect to games and accounts on iOS, just like Apple’s Game Center. The platform also supports Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, and Facebook. An Origin Account is also good to log in to EA games and websites.

You’ll require an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to install the software.
