If so, how much lower could they really bring it to...?

Yesterday's news said that major retailers started showing off the Rock Band bundle, priced at $200 and ready for pre-order. Of course, fans of the Guitar Hero series and future fans of Rock Band, knew that the game with a peripherals and all would set them back the above mentioned sum of cash. But what if I told you that EA has a more reasonable pricing in mind...?

According to Playstation Universe, "Electronic Arts has addressed the USD 199 price point that retailers recently applied to the company's upcoming Rock Band title, insisting it is nothing more than pure speculation."

Separately, the game will set you back USD 59.99, along with the drum kid (USD 80), guitar (USD 60) and microphone (USD 30); however, with EA now dismissing these reports, the price point for the ambitious title is yet again freshly open to debate.

EA promise a "reasonable" price for the title when it finally hits shelves later this year on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360"

Sounds great. So retailers are speculating the game's popularity. Obviously...! However, if let's say EA's right, how much cheaper could they make it? The peripherals' price point has already been set, as well as the game's itself, so what exactly are they going to cut the price on? I know what you're going to say: the whole bundle. Yes, it is possible.

Personally though, I think EA is putting on a good act. How much lower could the whole bundle's price really be. Of course, there are those who aren't so interested in the singing part, so they'll get the drums and the guitar. Others may already have a guitar, and will just go for the drums, or the mic, or for both. But then there are gamers who will want the full Rock Band gameplay experience and they'll go for the lot, which (I'll say it again) can't come down to much less than $200. Let's just wait and see what EA has to say next. They're going to have to confirm another pricing soon, having boasted out like this.
