The EA Sports division has announced that in 2012 players will be able to pick up a new installment of the FIFA Street franchise, which will use much of the underlying technology now included in the main FIFA 12 release, including Player Impact Engine and better Artificial Intelligence on both attack and defense.

The street game will be emphasizing tricks, using the terrain to one's advantage and dribbling.

Need for Speed: The Run was shown via trailer, with the publisher emphasizing the impact that the new DICE made Frostbite 2 engine will have on how the game looks and plays.

The game will also be playable on the show floor so we should have more information on it during the week.

Dr. Ray Muzyka was also on the stage at Gamescom for Electronic Arts and the big announcement is that the Warhammer Online name is being used for Wrath of Heroes, a new MMO that will use the free-to-play model and will allow players to create a hero and fight a three front battle in a fantasy world.

The Old Republic was also announced as being the most pre-ordered game in the history of Electronic Arts and upcoming beta weekends will allow those interested in it to take a look at the characters classes and decide what they want to play when the release takes place.

EA has shown a demo of the game showcasing the best known powers from the television series and the way players will work together to clear levels.

The publisher has offered quite a bit of new information about SSX, showing off two modes: Explore, which is designed for leaderboards, and Global Events, which covers bigger events.

Electronic Arts has also announced that Recknoning: Kingdoms of Amalur is set for February 10, 2012 in Europe, which means that America will get it on February 7.

The Secret World has also been announced as coming in April of next year, with a beta stage ready for August 26.

FIFA 12 is pretty much a known quantity at this point but the developers have confirmed that Ultimate Team comes on the game disk and offered some more details on the EA Sports Football Club social space.

The developers at DICE offered the first information on the cooperative mode of Battlefield 3, which will include both tanks and airplanes, actually playing one level live on stage.

Battlefield 3 is also welcoming the return of jets in 64 gamer multiplayer matches, with all the action transmitted via Battlelog.
