Any track in any EA game will be available

Electronic Arts is the world's largest video games publisher and many of the planet's most beloved and played games have been released through EA. Now it's time for a first in the gaming and music industry: the massive release of the music used in video games, as tracks and as ringtones as well.

It is common knowledge that a lot of the music in video games has never been released on CDs or other media and I guess that many of you (players) have encountered at least one time a track or even more than one song in a game with whom you fell in love just to see in great disappointment that you weren't able to get your hands on it/them anywhere and the sole (and almost all the mine - lousy) solution was to record it with all the in-game sounds.

Well, no more of this as Steve Schnur (EA world music and marketing executive) declares: "here was always that remaining frustration about hearing a song on a videogame soundtrack that is otherwise unavailable on the radio or online. This is the beginning of closing that link."

So happy days await for those long time yearning gamers: their favorite songs which accompanied their gaming sessions will soon be available. Not only will EA release the soundtracks of the future games, but they will make available the sounds in previous games as well.

EA will team up with Apple's iTunes for the already copyrighted music from various known and new performers and will offer tracks and ringtones via iTunes in the same manner you are already acquainted with. But when it comes to custom songs written and recorded especially for the EA Games products, things will be released via a partnership between EA Recordings and Nettwerk Music Group and the linking will be made towards a special store operated by Nettwerk which will offer the respective digital content Without DRM! (Way to go, EA!)

The goal of EA is to embed a new piece of tech that will allow gamers to buy their fav tracks directly from games and console games. Anyway, a new horizon of interest has been opened and I am quite confident that gamers will welcome and use it thoroughly.
