It looks like the promised EA games will arrive sooner than later, with a delay of only about a month. The reports that started surfacing at the end of last mentioned that four of the promised EA games were ready and shipping, and indeed they can now be ordered from various
sources.
Since the WWDC announcement, EA has not been forthcoming with updates on the progress of the games, even more so when it came to the delays. Despite the silent approach, the company is delivering the games, and trailers for them can already be founf on Apple's website.
The games in question are Battlefield 2142, Need for Speed Carbon, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars. The company proudly describes them as the "first games ever" published by EA for Mac OS X, which is quite true. The four titles are now available for order via the Apple Store and will be making their appearance in Apple's retail stores later this month. Initially, Need for Speed Carbon and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be available on Tuesday, August 21, while Battlefield 2142 and Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars will be available one week later on Tuesday, August 28.
The remaining two promised games, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08 and Madden NFL 08 are expected later this year, the company giving a vague timeline for September or October.
The company's site has also been updated with a 'Mac' links indicating official support for OS X. This displays a list of available games, of which interestingly there are only five. For some reason, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is not to be found on this list, despite being part of the games initially promised and then delayed until later in the year.
