Video game publisher Electronic Arts has cut the price of the PlayStation 4 titles that are offered via the PS Store in the United Kingdom by 3 British Pounds, the equivalent of about 5 dollars (3.75 Euro), just before the launch of the new home console.

The move was spotted by Eurogamer and comes after a number of fans of the Sony device have complained that the price for digital content was higher than that of multiplatform titles that were already available on the Xbox One from Microsoft.

The publisher has not offered any explanation at the moment.

On launch, players will be able to get access to FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, NBA Live 14, Need for Speed: Rivals and Battlefield 4.

The Xbox One has been available in the UK since November 22 and the PS4 will be officially launched on Friday.
