Even if Valve denies it

Left 4 Dead will be a pretty good game, promising a zombie shooter with some very interesting twists, and although the single player aspects will be the classical "You're surrounded by zombies, try to escape," the multiplayer will allow the gamer to control the zombies and try to stop the survivors.

Valve, its developer, has mentioned on various occasions that the game will be coming only to the PC and Xbox 360, but this statement hasn't put an end to speculations on a possible version for PlayStation 3. Although the company denied all these rumors, the precedent already exists, with The Orange Box, when it developed versions for the Xbox 360 and PC, and then Electronic Arts ported the content to Sony's console.

Because Valve doesn't have any programmers for the PS3, EA has expressed interest in the technical development of a version of Left 4 Dead for said console. Valve's Gabe Newell had this to say on the subject: "We don't have the bandwidth. For The Orange Box, EA did the PS3 version. They're interested in getting a PS3 version done. We just have to figure out where the resources can come from. We don't have the bandwidth. We're doing the 360 and PC version ourselves."

Although Newell added that the PS3 was becoming a more and more interesting platform for them, at the moment the 150 people currently working at Valve don't have the resources necessary for such an endeavor. "I think we need to do a good job with supporting the PS3 with the Source engine. Our engine licensees would like us to do it. I think we need to invest more in getting that in there. So I think that we'll, over time, be directly more and more supporting the PS3 as our bandwidth allows us to."

Well, that's surely good news for PS3 owners – Valve will soon turn towards you with its future games, but until then, pray for EA to develop a version of Left 4 Dead for you guys.
