Video game publisher Electronic Arts clarifies its stance on bringing Need for Speed: Most Wanted on the Wii U from Nintendo, saying that it plans to bring the racing game to the new platform but not on launch.

A representative from Electronic Arts states to Polygon that, “We are very excited to deliver Need for Speed: Most Wanted on more platforms and to more gamers.”

“Starting October 30, Most Wanted will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Android and iOS. Then in 2013, Nintendo fans will be able to experience what it means to be Most Wanted amongst their friends on the Wii U,” he added.

The new Need for Speed: Most Wanted is being developed by Criterion and will offer both single-player and multiplayer modes.

EA has already said that all its titles for the Wii U will require the player to use an Origin log-in to play.
