After quite a lot of teasing, Electronic Arts has finally confirmed the next installment in its Medal of Honor series, in the form of Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which is being developed by Danger Close studios.

The Medal of Honor series impressed quite a lot of shooter fans many years ago and was completely rebooted back in 2010, with a current-day version focusing on spec ops soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now, after quite a long wait, EA has confirmed the next game in the series, called Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

The title arrives once again from Danger Close studios, only this time the developer is crafting both the single-player and the multiplayer campaigns in the new shooter. Like all new games from EA, it’s powered by Frostbite 2, the graphics engine seen in last year’s Battlefield 3 or Need for Speed: The Run.

Not a lot of details are known as of yet, but expect EA to share some new pieces of information at the beginning of March, during the Game Developer’s Conference that takes place in San Francisco.
