It is no surprise to find out that a huge game development and publishing company decides to try and drive forward one of their highly anticipated games with a few big name signings. The surprise is, though, that the person chosen to do the job in this particular case (Red Alert 3: American Gladiator "Crush") is Gina Carano. Fortunately, even though a modern gladiator has been assigned, we won't actually get the option to fight with or against gladiators (thank God for that!).

Red Alert's Carano will join the prestigious list of stars who embarked on the Command and Conquer franchise over the years: James Earl Jones (Star Wars), Josh Holloway (Lost), Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars), Michael Biehn (The Terminator, Aliens), Natasha Henstridge (Species), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Jennifer Morrison (House), and Michael Ironside (Top Gun).

Gina Carano will be starring as Natasha, in a deadly Soviet commando unit - not only in high definition as part of the in-game movies, but also a Tanya-like playable unit in the game. And, since we've mentioned her, we must say that we truly hope that EA will have the inspiration to bring her back to the game (or, at least, a look-alike).

"The last year has been such a whirlwind for me, from everything that's happening with EliteXC this weekend to American Gladiators and now with EA and Red Alert 3," said Carano. "Natasha is such a cool, powerful character, her actions definitely speak louder than her words which is something I definitely identify with. I can't wait to see how everything turns out and I hope all of the gamers out there have a great time wreaking havoc as me."

Electronic Arts promises that even more "surprise" cast will be announced for Command & Conquer Red Alert 3, due to be released this october, as a recently released trailer spoils the beans! You can download the trailer HERE.
