Video game publisher Electronic Arts says that Battlefield 4 sales were not influenced in any way by the technical problems that affected the shooter after launch, but by the overall weak market for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Andrew Wilson, the chief executive officer of the company, is quoted by Game Informer as telling investors that, “Shortly after Battlefield 4 went live, we began hearing from some players in the community who were experiencing issues with the game. The Battlefield team acted swiftly to address the issues through game updates, and they continue to make refinements as part of our live service to ensure a great game experience for all Battlefield 4 players.”

EA has not offered any solid sales numbers for Battlefield 4.

The shooter is getting a constant stream of updates from developer DICE and a big update is scheduled to arrive in a few days.

The studio is also asking the community to offer info on the areas of the game that need to be rebalanced.
