We're talking about
Knights of the Old Republic and Lord of the Rings, in case you were wondering what all those letters mean. And, yes, it seems that we can say that we already
know everything there is to know about the titles that are going to be released by
Electronic Arts during this fiscal year, thanks to an analyst report from EA.
First of all, the LucasArts and BioWare partnership announced sometime during last October was not made in order to create a MMO game based on the KOTOR world, but a new Knights of the Old Republic game. That is bad for those who really hoped to spend their lives online playing a MMO, and good for everybody else, since we'll get some new games to play. And, even though no further details have been made, we really expect them to pop up soon, since the game will be released until April 2009.
Second, we will have another Lord of the Rings title coming from the Mercenaries developers, Pandemic – this one set for release before April 2009, too. Again, no details have been given, probably just to let the hungry wolves to start and anticipate the features and produce the rumors that help so much to increase a game's popularity.
Thanks to Shacknews, you can start thinking about tons of rumors, since the lads there have come up with a list presenting all the games that are going to be released by EA in the near (or God knows when) future: EA Canada is working on EA's cash buckets FIFA, NBA, NHL and so on. Tiburon goes for golf with Tiger Woods, racing with NASCAR and sporty with Madden and NCAA Football; Black Box comes with some Need for Speed and SKATE and so on. You can check the entire list
here.
