Rumors are rarely false in this business

There's nothing quite like a good gossip to set our hearts on fire, especially when it's juicy news about upcoming games. And if it's one thing that rumors need, that is further charcoal to liven up their fire. The latest issue of the PlayStation: The Official Magazine has reached its subscribers, and some previous, wild rumors have received further confirmations. While rumors about rumors may seem a little bit far-fetched to be believable, a constant flow of information towards a single subject does make it more and more probable. According to the magazine, some rather big games will be getting additional installments in the franchise, and the official word on them should arrive at this year's E3.

The first game to increase its family appears to be Resistance, as a third installment is hinted at in the magazine. This isn't the first time rumors of the project have made their way to our ears, as we've previously seen signs of it in Shreveport, Louisiana, where the film Battle: Los Angeles is being shot. A Resistance 3 billboard is part of the movie props, and while this wasn't really enough to convince everybody that the game was in production, it was enough to give its fans hope that has now been proven to be well founded.

The second game rumored by OPM to surface at the convention is Killzone 3, and the surprise about this one is rather dull. The way publishers seek to gain as much money from as little work as possible, the franchise was bound to get another installment in the very near future. Previous rumors of the title surfaced some time ago, ironically, also in the Official PlayStation Magazine.

The last big title rumored to receive a sequel appears to be InFamous. Previous to the magazine's announcements, word was out that Sucker Punch was casting for the game, so this is another somewhat expected piece of news. The final word will come a little after June 15, when E3 opens up.
