Nintendo is one of the most popular video game companies out there, being active in both the hardware and software markets, with devices such as the Nintendo Wii or DS and franchises like Mario or The Legend of Zelda.

But one of the most popular series of video games that have really pleased hardcore Nintendo fans was the Metroid one, which told the story of the lovely Samus Aran and her bounty hunting adventures across the universe.

After registering big sales with Metroid Prime 3 for the Nintendo Wii, the Japanese company partnered with Tecmo's Team Ninja and revealed during its E3 press conference Metroid: Other M, a fresh take on the adventures of the hunter from space. Dated for 2010, this game looks great.

No concrete details are known at the moment, but from the debut trailer embedded at the end of the article, a few things can be noticed. First of all, it will feature both third and first person views, with Samus battling normal villains in third person view but she has to switch to first in order to land those tricky shots into bosses at the end of each level.

Old fashioned Metroid platforming fragments are also present, but one of the most interesting aspects is the presence of computer-generated animated cut scenes, which give a whole new feel to this Metroid game. It truly suits it and will make it that much more interesting to fans.

Until Nintendo and/or Team Ninja decide to indulge us in concrete information or details, we can enjoy watching this debut video, courtesy of GameTrailers. Stay tuned to Softpedia for more details on Metroid: Other M.
