Racing games are becoming more and more important these days as not only is Electronic Arts trying to corner the market with three Need For Speed titles this year, but Microsoft has just announced that its prestigious Forza Motorsport franchise would be getting its third iteration, filled with even bigger features and opportunities.

Scheduled to arrive this October from developer Turn 10 Studios, the game will have a whopping 400 car roster, much bigger than its main rival NFS Shift, and over 100 world famous racing tracks from all around the globe. Set to feature exclusive and very sought-after vehicles like the new Audi R8 V10 or even muscle cars like the Ford GT or Asian imports such as the Nissan 370Z, Forza Motorsport looks very good.

Planned to feature adjustable skill levels and a variety of driving assists, the game promises to be very user friendly no matter the player’s racing skills. High definition graphics and its much praised customization features are also present, with the community of painters, tuners and photographers getting some new customization options, in order to create some high-end works of art that can be shared on Xbox Live. Also, as fresh option, the ability to record high definition videos showcasing your racing skills will be present.

More precise options regarding physics and damage will be provided, as the team at Turn 10 has thoroughly researched the issues and has come up with very realistic results in terms of gameplay. These new mechanics will be put to the test in a wide variety of racing modes, including more than 200 different events featured in the single player mode. From Circuits to Ovals, Drag and Drift stages, players will need to be true pilots in order to win them all. Also, the online multiplayer mode will feature a new game rule editor allowing players to create their own experience.

Overall, Forza Motorsport 3 looks great and will be a must-buy for a lot of Xbox 360 owners. Are you excited about it? Leave us a comment with your thoughts.
