E3 Expo 2005 was dominated by the next generation consoles PlayStation 3, Nintendo Revolution and Xbox 360	By 22nd of May 2005, 20:32 GMT Adjust text size:

The main conference for games, an industry which is worth 11 billion dollars, is over. Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 Expo for connoisseurs, took place in Los Angeles and brought 400 companies, all anxious to present the latest novelties in games or hardware. During the three-day expo, there were 70,000 visitors, and keep in mind that a ticket to E3 Expo was around $275. The next generation consoles were the main attraction of the event. Since Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo have all announced details about PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Revolution, everyone present at E3 Expo was curious to see Microsoft's and Sony's console at work. Nintendo has very little to say about Revolution, but used the event to launch a new model of GameCube. The portable gaming consoles, like Sony PSP, were another attraction for the visitors of E3 Expo. Despite expectations, E3 Expo closed its gates without Microsoft or Sony to announce any detail about the prices of Xbox 360, due for launch in November, and PlayStation 3, awaited somewhere in May, next year. Microsoft outlined that there are 160 games ready for Xbox 360 and touted the online gaming capabilities of the new console, and Sony praised the technological advantages of PlayStation 3. In conclusion, this year's edition of E3 Expo will be remembered in history as the War of the next generation consoles.
