EA Sports has worked on both player and ball physics

FIFA 15 feels new, although it will probably be hard for gamers who pick it up to point exactly to what makes the video game different from the current version that's running on the Xbox One or on the PlayStation 4.

The development team at EA Sports does talk about creating smarter players and a better match experience, which brings the video game closer to a real-world match between the top simulated teams.

They also promise that, in the near future, they will deliver more details about new game modes, improved licensing for FIFA 15 and other innovative elements of the football sim.

At E3 2014, I got a chance to actually play the title and I quickly picked my favorite team, Liverpool, in order to face off against a player using Real Madrid.

The first major initial difference when compared to FIFA 14 is how much more physics EA Sports has introduced, both when it comes to the player and their movement and also when it comes to the ball and the way it moves across the field.

Momentum is crucial and even the best players will be unable to shoot or deliver an accurate pass after a sudden change of direction or if the ball is not perfectly positioned at their feet.

Even the superstars that play for Liverpool and Real Madrid seem to be making more mistakes and it's important to get an accurate tactical view of the team and how it is positioned in the field before launching risky passes to the forwards.

FIFA 15 seems to make it a little harder than before to score goals from long-range shots, although that could change after players spend more time with the title and unlock more of its secrets.

At the same time, it's more necessary than ever to play a good midfield game, draw out some opposition players through passing and then find an unmarked offensive player who can feed the strikers in good positions.

The team has also worked on the graphics quality, with more details for the faces of the players, new movement sets that show their personality and more details for the crowds and the pitch.

FIFA 15 is at the moment in the alpha stage of development and the team will probably announce an official launch date at some point during the summer, but gamers can expect to play it in late September of this year on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and current-gen devices.
