Sony confirmed during its E3 press conference yesterday evening that it will be bringing the critically acclaimed God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta games to the PlayStation 3 home console, after being previously available just for the PSP.

Sony was rumored to be preparing some big announcements for this year's E3 conference, but it seems that it's just good news for PS3 console owners, as the Japanese company confirmed that two previous PSP exclusives are coming their way, in the form of the God of War: Origins Collection.

Comprised of God of War: Chains of Olympus, the first game in the series appears for the PSP, and Ghost of Sparta, its sequel, also released for the portable device, the Origins Collection sees them remastered in full HD, with support for stereoscopic 3D as well as many other things.

"Discover the origins of Kratos with the definitive compilation of God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta on a single Blu-ray disc for the first time! Fully remastered in 1080p and stereoscopic 3-D, players will discover the dark past that continues to haunt the Spartan Warrior, and why he is forced to choose between his own personal redemption and saving the ancient world from destruction."

The God of War: Origins Collection is being developed for the PlayStation 3 by Ready at Dawn studios, the same company that brought the two titles to the PSP back in 2008, with Chains of Olympus, and last year, with Ghost of Sparta.
