It seems that LG is planning on playing more than one winning card at once with its new display, one dubbed E2290V, a monitor that definitely strives to excel in all areas, from size and shape to image quality.

There are many ways that a device can stand out among all others of its kind, or at least most of them.

In the case of displays, a product can have an unmatched image quality, an unusual shape, some special additional components that is mostly uncommon for displays in general, etc.

The new LG E2290V seems to integrate optimizations to more than just one of its features, but its physical size and overall design stand out most.

Basically, even though it has all the performance numbers needed by a high-quality liquid crystal display, the display solution is remarkably compact.

In fact, LG is said to be convinced that the product is the thinnest monitor in the world at present, with a thickness of just 7.2 mm.

The screen itself has a diagonal that is 21.5 inches in length, while its native resolution is of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Needless to say, this makes any media of up to Full HD picture quality fully supported, not to mention that it lets any game be played at maximum settings.

LG also managed to score a response time of 2ms, as well as a brightness of 250 cd/m2 and, thanks to the LED backlighting, a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1.

Finally, so that it may communicate with a wide variety of video controllers (and, thus, PCs), as well as multimedia playback devices, it is equipped with D-Sub, DVI and HDMI inputs.

LG made sure that the E2290V has an aesthetically-pleasing stand made out of brushed aluminum and should already be shipping the device, for 329 Euro.
