Energy company E.ON has recently entered a partnership with manufacturing and logistics firm Unipart, and this collaboration is all about helping the latter improve on its ecological footprint by embracing renewable heat technology.

Thus, Business Green tells us that, as part of this deal, Unipart's Oxford head offices are to get a brand-new biomass boiler that is expected to help the manufacturing and logistics company reduce energy costs and also curb its yearly carbon emissions.

According to the same source, the biomass boiler is to be installed, operated and maintained by E.ON and will have a capacity of 995kW. Interestingly enough, E.ON is to also assume control of Unipart's 1.6MW gas boilers, which will serve to ensure additional heating when circumstances demand for it.

Should things go according to plan, the large-scale biomass boiler that Unipart's Oxford head offices will soon be fitted with will help the manufacturing and logistics firm cut its annual carbon emissions by as much as 668 tonnes.

Commenting on this initiative, Thomas Buss with E.ON said, “We're looking forward to working with Unipart to deliver energy efficient heating that will bring significant benefits to the company in terms of cost and carbon emissions and help the company to deliver on its ongoing commitment and passion for environmental management.”
