It’s time to hear Christian Grey’s side of the story as well

The “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy might have been the butt of all jokes in the literary community and online, but it’s one of the best-selling releases of the kind. Now, author E.L. James, who was inspired to write it after seeing the hysteria around the “Twilight” phenomenon, is preparing to put out a new book in the series.

Well, it’s not exactly a new book because the story of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel has already been told, but it will breathe fresh life into it because, this time, it will be told from Grey’s perspective.

Christian Grey is coming back, ladies

The book is called “Grey” and will be out on June 18, which coincides with the character’s birthday. You can see its artwork in the Instagram post below, coming straight from James. It’s not exactly the stuff you’d write home to mom about, but then again, it’s not like people bought the books for the cover.

“Christian is a complex character,” she says in a press release, “and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past. Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story.”

What this means is that readers will get to relive all those kinky scenes that were presented in the original trilogy from Anastasia’s point of view, but from a fresh perspective.

The Christian Grey madness

James’ original trilogy includes “Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” and tells the story of Grey, a handsome millionaire with serious personal issues, and Anastasia, a lit grad who falls for him and is a virgin. That last part is essential because he falls for her too, but would only “date” her if she agrees to be his submissive.

The first book in the series has already been turned into film, which came out on Valentine’s Day 2015, with Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as leads. The second and third will be out in 2017 and 2018, respectively, but with a different director than the first.

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who helmed the first film, couldn’t cope with James’ meddling in the filmmaking process, and she opted to sit the sequel and the threequel out.

Hello all. For those of you who have asked, Christian's POV of #FSOG is published on 18th June for his birthday. It's called GREY... I hope you enjoy it. #FiftyShades #Grey A photo posted by E L James (@erikaljames) on Jun 1, 2015 at 5:00am PDT
