E-readers must truly be growing in sales all the time if E Ink has again set a higher bar for the expected e-paper screen sales, at least according to the most recent rumors focused on such things.

Tablet may be taking up a lot of the news space recently, but this does not mean all other things are fading into obscurity.

While slates are enjoying their extended 'new product attention,' so to speak, e-reader have been amassing their own consumer base.

As such, E Ink, being the main supplier of screens for such items, is set to profit from the direction this market segment has taken.

Granted, there seem to be more color e-readers coming out, which use LCDs (liquid crystal displays) instead of e-paper.

Nevertheless, this did not stop E ink from setting a fairly optimistic bar for its expected e-paper shipments.

As reported by the folks over at Digitimes, the outfit expects 25 to 30 million units to be shipped by the end of the year.

Growth of monthly orders will continue until October, with European and US markets being the main driving forces.

Additionally, E Ink completed trial production of e-paper modules at the Yangzhou, eastern China factory.

E Ink doesn't expect to start fully utilizing it until September, but volume production will commence later this month, August 2011.

Finally, July revenues were 20.03% higher than those of June (and 83.14% on year), providing another reason to assume future sales growth.

What remains is to see what new e-readers and from which companies get unleashed over the next few months.

Amazon, for example, is expected to soon ship the fourth-generation Kindle, given the recent price cut on the third-generation model. Whatever rival items happen to emerge will have to go toe to toe in terms of features and price alike.
