A high-School in Cambridge has awarded Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev a scholarship in 2011, reports say.

As I detailed, the 19-year-old man and his brother, hailing from Russia, were legal residents of the United States.

Tsarnaev was born in Kyrgyzstan, and both have lived in the States since 2002 or 2003. 26-year-old Tamerlan Tzarnaev was a legal resident in the country since 2007. He has reportedly been killed in the midst of a shootout with law enforcement in Watertown, Massachusetts.

According to Boston.com, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School offered the younger suspect a $2,500 (€1,900) scholarship to further his education and pursue college studies two years ago.

The scholarship funds are raised by means of donations from businesses and members of the community. 44 other students have been awarded the scholarship the same year.
