Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends is a videogame developed by Omega Force and published by KOEI Co. Ltd., released exclusively for the PlayStation 2 console from Sony in February 2006. The title is classed as an action game played from a third person perspective with a lot of influences taken from history and some light fantasy elements. There are also role playing elements linked to how the characters evolve as the experience progresses.

It is another iteration that KOEI created in the long running series based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms epic poem, which offers details on one of the most fascinating periods of the history of ancient China.

The Extreme Legends version of the fifth main installment in the franchise offers the same amount of standard battles and cooperative experience but also includes more features linked to character creation and an all-new Destiny mode that allows the player to develop one single character from the status of lowly soldier to officer and then general over the course of many battles.

Those players who own the main Dynasty Warriors 5 can import their already made characters into Xtreme Legends using save files. This allows the gamer to access new battlefields and dozens of fresh characters based on the novels.

Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends was well received by reviewers, getting mostly four stars out of five possible for its ingenious progression system and for the amount of content that can be unlocked in the game.

UNLOCKABLES

Green Scroll

Play the Battle Of Han Shui level and wait for Xu Huang to appear. When he is given the order to charge your main camp, defeat him. The Green Scroll raises your attack, but also lowers your defense.

Ice Arrows

Play the Battle Of Yang Ping Gate level (Cao Cao, Cao Ren, Xiahou Yuan, Zhang He). Kill twenty stone statues in less than five minutes. This item adds ice damage to your arrows.
