Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires is a Japanese button mashing game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei on the 25th of August 2005 in Japan, the 13th of September 2005 in North America and the 23rd of September 2005 in Europe. The game also combines beat 'em up and 3D action elements with its button mashing.

The game includes all the characters from the fourth title in the series plus six brand new ones (Guan Ping, Xing Cai, Cao Pi, Pang De, Ling Tong and Zuo Ci). Also, the Empires expansion added five brand new missions and soundtracks from previous titles. The game was received with mixed reviews from critics.
