Two new resources available for download from Microsoft make it simpler for customers to connect Dynamics CRM 2011 to Dynamics CRM Online.

Both the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 for E-mail Router Installing Guide for use with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 for Outlook Installing Guide for use with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online are available on the company’s Download Center free of charge.

As the official labels of the download imply, customers will be able to leverage the documentation in order to connect Dynamics CRM 2011 for E-mail Router and Dynamics CRM 2011 for Outlook to Dynamics CRM Online.

Dynamics CRM for Outlook is designed to permit users access to customer relationship management data via Outlook both in online and offline scenarios.

Multiple users of the same machine can have the solution configured to their specific accounts.

“Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook enables access to the same data through Outlook as the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web client.

“Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook is targeted at Microsoft Dynamics CRM users who need access to CRM data while they are using the familiar Outlook application,” the Redmond company explained.

With the Dynamics CRM Online E-mail Router, customers can centralize a number of Microsoft products.

The component acts as a hub between Dynamics CRM Online and Exchange Server 2003, Exchange Server 2007, Exchange Server 2010, Exchange Online.

In addition it’s also designed to play nice with SMTP and POP3-compliant e-mail servers, Microsoft informed.

“After the E-mail Router is installed, it transfers e-mail messages to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system, and it sends outgoing e-mail messages that users created in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system,” the company said.

“Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online stores e-mail messages as activity records. These e-mail activity records are stored in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database and include both the contents of the e-mail message, such as the text of the message and its subject line, and relevant associations with other Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online records.”
