Customers that want easy access to all the documentation provided by Microsoft for the next generation of Dynamics AX can download a new resource

made available by the company.

The Microsoft Download Center is now offering the Documentation Resources for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 free of charge.

The document, which comes both as a .PDF and an .XPS file is designed to enable IT administrators, developers, and users with an overview of the resources available for Dynamics AX 2012.

It’s important to note that the document doesn’t contain any guidance, but that instead it maps all the locations in which customers will be able to find Dynamics AX 2012 documentation.

“Microsoft Dynamics AX documentation is currently available from the Help menu in the Microsoft Dynamics AX client, from the TechNet library, and from MSDN,” the company notes.

“Additional technical documentation, including technical white papers and Knowledge Base articles, is available on CustomerSource and PartnerSource.”

As far as users are concerned, the guidance designed especially for them is all published on the official Using Microsoft Dynamics AX Web site.

“Some of this information is also available in the Microsoft Dynamics AX client and in Enterprise Portal for Microsoft Dynamics AX. User documentation is updated with new content periodically and is available through CustomerSource and PartnerSource,” the software giant added.

Microsoft released the first Beta development milestone of Dynamics AX 2012 earlier this month at Convergence 2011.

Early adopters can already download and start test driving Dynamics AX 2012 Beta, but they need a valid PartnerSource account in order to access the actual bits.

Obviously, since Dynamics AX 2012 is still in development, the documentation associated with the next major iteration of the enterprise resource planning solution can also suffer changes.

Microsoft expects to finalize and release Dynamics AX 2012 later this year, specifically in August 2011.
