Just days after Microsoft latest enterprise resource planning solution hit general availability, the company is now offering the first refresh package to customers.

Dynamics AX 2012 Cumulative Update 1 has already been released, according to the software giant, despite the fact that Dynamics AX 2012 itself, only landed a few days ago.

“Earlier this week, the Dynamics AX Sustained Engineering team made available Dynamics AX 2012 Cumulative Update 1 which is available via Partner Source and Customer Source,” revealed Microsoft’s Carl Gibson.

Microsoft only announced the launch of Dynamics AX 2012 on August 1st, 2011. The Redmond company has yet to even celebrate the actual commercial release.

According to the software giant, the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 virtual launch event is scheduled for Thursday, September 8th at 9:00am Pacific Standard Time.

Despite this, customers with valid Partner Source and Customer Source accounts can already grab Dynamics AX 2012 Cumulative Update 1.

“Cumulative Update 1 contains a number of critical fixes and improvements to the overall user experience which have been made based on feedback from customers and partners which are already running their businesses on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012,” Gibson added.

Microsoft even published a Knowledge Base article for CU1, namely KB2579565: Cumulative Update 1 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. Of course, just as it is the case for the actual refresh, access to the KB resource is restricted.

Customers worldwide can sign up for the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 virtual launch event which will take place over a month from now.

The software giant already confirmed that Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, Kirill Tatarinov, President, Microsoft Business Solutions Division and Nigel Montgomery, Research Director, Gartner will all take the stage at the event.

The promise from Microsoft is that the virtual launch will be dedicated to revealing the evolution that Dynamics AX 2012 brings to the table.
