Microsoft is offering customers a taste of the Intelligent Data Management Framework for Dynamics AX, a solution designed to boost database manageability, configuration and administration, as well as reporting. At this point in time, the software giant is offering for download a pre-Beta release of the framework.
Access is limited only to customers with
Partner Source and
Customer Source accounts, the company informed. “As with some of our previous releases, we’re releasing the BETA version to get feedback over the next few months as the Product Teams build the capabilities into the existing framework,” revealed
Fee Nolan, from the UK Dynamics AX Team.
The Redmond-based company underlined that the Intelligent Data Management Framework played nice with a range of Dynamics AX releases, including the 2009 version. One of the roles associated with the solution is to streamline the management tasks connected to Dynamics AX databases.
“The Intelligent Data Management Framework allows our customers to reduce their database sizes by a centralized intelligent purge method and by managing the database indices using Microsoft SQL Server DMV based intelligence. We support Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 and Microsoft Axapta 3.0 on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008,” Nolan stated.
With the framework, Microsoft is enabling customers to centralize data from both test and production environments in a single location. Database connections, as well as restrictions on tables, but also asynchronous scheduling, configurations and audit actions from tracing to reporting can all be taken care of via the Intelligent Data Management Framework.
“Easy Configuration and Management - Rich Dashboard, Intuitive Analytics, Collaboration thru Alerts and emails, Purge Object Discovery and Configuration for ease of customizability. Ability to build Partner Solution Add On Purge Objects. Configure a Purge object by leveraging the Dynamics AX Database in a fast and efficient manner,” Nolan added.
