The game is more popular than Evolve and The Order: 1886

Techland's first-person zombie survival game Dying Light is still topping the physical sales charts in UK, in spite of it being available in digital form for over a month now.

The game takes place in a sealed-off portion of a sprawling city, quarantined by the army after the outbreak of a mysterious virus that turns people into mindless undead brutes.

The game was met with excitement, and while it does not do anything new or ground-breaking, it manages to bring together mechanics from a lot of other video games in a pleasant and tense mashup of action, narrative, and open-world gameplay.

Dying Light managed to keep last week's crown, being a veritable roaring success, outselling many recent releases, including Ready at Dawn's highly anticipated PS4 exclusive cinematic action game The Order: 1886 and Turtle Rock Studios' team-based asymmetrical multiplayer shooter Evolve, both launched in February.

The release of the boxed retail version of Dying Light had to be postponed in Europe, and it looks like that did not result in a loss of sales, on the contrary, the title is seeing its second weekly number one.

The figures come from UK sales tracking company Chart-Track, which has just revealed the best-selling video games at retail.

The other strong sellers

Dying Light is followed by Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V, EA Sports' FIFA 15, and Sledgehammer Games' Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the latest entry in the popular action series from Dimps, is situated at position number 5, followed by Minecraft: Xbox Edition in sixth.

The Order: 1886 comes next, and at spot number 8 we have a new entry, Rebellion's Zombie Army Triology, a spin-off of the Sniper Elite series that emphasizes over-the-top action and a silly premise that is pretty popular in today's culture.

Evolve, the four hunters versus one monster shooter sits at number 9, and the top ten is closed by Minecraft PlayStation Edition.

Once again, there are no dramatic shifts in consumer trends, with the biggest movers being Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Unity, dropping to 20 from its previous 13, and Volition's insanity simulator Saints Row IV: Re-Elected / Gat Out of Hell re-entering the top 20 at position number 18.
