Dying Light has jumped straight to the top of UK's all-formats charts, immediately after having become available at retail, in spite of it having been digitally available for a month.

Developer Techland released the first-person zombie survival video game on January 28, as a digital download. Due to some production issues, the launch of the physical edition of the title had to be postponed to the end of February outside of North America.

The game received positive reviews and was praised for its huge open world and satisfying combat, as well as for probably the best parkour system ever crafted for a video game. Granted, Polish developer Techland had help from parkour inventor David Belle, who worked hard to make sure that everything feels right.

All the effort that went into making the game seems to have paid off, as it topped sales charts after release, and now it's topping them again at retail.

The information comes from UK retail tracker Chart-Track, who reveals that Dying Light sold the more copies than any other game did during the week ending on February 28.

The rest of the top 10

In second place, we find Sledgehammer Games' military first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, showing a strong presence, as always, followed by a brand new entry, in the form of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, the just-released action-adventure video game from Bandai Namco Games.

Last week's king, Ready at Dawn's cinematic shooter The Order: 1886, rests at position number four, followed by Rockstar Games' blockbuster Grand Theft Auto V.

The ever-popular FIFA 15 comes next, followed at spot number seven by Ubisoft's Far Cry 4, still showing a healthy momentum.

At number eight, we have Turtle Rock Studios' asymmetrical multiplayer shooter Evolve, waning in popularity but still alive and kicking, followed by the block stacking sensation, Minecraft, in its two console incarnations, for Xbox and PlayStation platforms.

Other notable entries are The Last of Us: Remastered, the PlayStation 4 version of Naughty Dog's acclaimed post-apocalyptic action-adventure video game, making an unexpected return, and Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires, a brand new entry, hitting the top at spot number twenty-one.
